Associate

To be a healing presence at the heart of this wounded world is the charism of the Medical Mission Sisters.

Associates are women and men committed to living the vision, values, and charism of the Medical Mission Sisters within the context of their own lives and responsibilities.

Association is a vocation… a way of being… learning to BE the difference.

Association invites individuals to deepen their spiritual lives through reflection, prayer, worship and actions that promote healing.

Becoming a Medical Mission Sister Associate includes several steps:

Complete an Initial Inquiry Form to tell us about yourself

Become Familiarized and Connected with the community of MMS, its values, history, and charism, to learn about the mission and how it is expressed in the world

Discern with the Coordinator of Associate Membership to mutually decide whether to continue the process towards application

Participate in an Orientation Period with a Sister and an Associate (or with two Associates) for deeper understanding of MMS spirituality, what healing presence means and how it is lived by Medical Mission Sisters

Complete an Application and a brief outline of one’s life and faith journey

Request in Writing to make a First Commitment

Make a Commitment to live the Medical Mission Sisters’ values in one’s personal life, community and career
